Additional administrative tasks may be assigned, and the CMA may assist with clinic activities, such as Joint Commission or fall prevention efforts, and participate in clinic committees. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong customer service skills with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, typically gained through high school education and medical assistant training. Ability to lift heavy items and assist with transporting patients in stretchers or wheelchairs. Knowledge of sterile techniques and procedures relevant to the work performed. Familiar with the procedures for administering both routine and special patient treatments. Understanding of sanitation, personal hygiene, and basic health and safety practices for clinic environments.
