Manages patient expectations with clear explanations (i.e., informing patients about delays as appropriate) and effectively manages the providers' patient schedules. Exhibits knowledge of lab procedures to include specimen collection, phlebotomy, point of care testing, and use of ABN’s (if applicable in hired practice). Properly processes, packages, and sends specimens to correct laboratory. Obtains preauthorization when needed. Proficient in managing point of care logs and documenting point of care testing accurately in the EMR. Follows insurance carrier guidelines and Medicare regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of ICD9 and CPT coding and seeks assistance as needed. Obtains prior authorizations when needed. Schedules tests and specialist visits within network limitations. Supports productivity goals to maximize use of facility resource to meet patient demand. Maximize physician visits so that productivity targets are met. Assists and contributes to meet quality measures for the organization.
