This involves coordinating appointments and at times attending consultations as warranted, meeting with patients and families and being available by phone for patient questions and concerns. Provides consistent reinforcement of education and understanding of disease process and treatment process to patients and families. Contributes to efforts to assure quality services are provided in a timely and cost effective manner. Actively participates in the Oncology Service Line and Cancer Committee. Attends community health fairs and events as part of outreach activities to help educate the public about cancer prevention, etc. Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.
