The Burn Center addresses all aspects of burns from transport to acute care to post-burn rehabilitation. A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care that is outcome-directed. Patient-centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision. Essential Job Functions Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs. Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients. Manages & collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Care Center Director or the Patient Care Manager. Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person, and working as a team member. Assists the Care Center in the development/attainment of goals and objectives.
