Job Description Job Summary: The Patient Navigator-Registered Nurse (RN)-Cancer is a skilled oncology nurse and specializes in caring for patients eighteen years of age or older with suspected or confirmed malignancies or a hematologic disorder in the outpatient Cancer Center. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in applying the nursing process to the provision of age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient care. Case manages and coordinates the continuum of care from referral through the treatment process in collaboration with the physician and the multidisciplinary team. Proactively manages daily clinic activities to ensure efficiency and timely patient visits. Implements research protocols in collaboration with the research team. Facilitates the empowerment of the nursing profession and embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Demonstrates flexibility and willingly floats to other areas as assigned. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required (in progress acceptable). Minimum one year of nursing experience required. Minimum one year of oncology nursing preferred. One year case management or transitional care management experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates proficient competencies in clinical oncology/hematology nursing. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in oncology/hematology treatment modalities. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required. Exhibit professional behavior at all times. Job Description Job Summary: The Patient Navigator-Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)-Cancer Clinic works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide developmentally appropriate and age-specific direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced outpatient cancer clinic and infusion center serving patients eighteen years of age or older with suspected or confirmed malignancies or hematologic disorder(s). Performs designated procedures and treatments which require knowledge and technical expertise within the LVN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, techniques, and guidelines. Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of complications and/or allergic reactions immediately to the RN, MD or NP. Exhibits mission-focused thinking and understands the sensitivity of cancer diagnosis and expresses kindness when communicating with patients facing the unknown of a serious critical illness. Orients patients to the clinic routine and prepares patients for examination. Assists MD or NP with examination and procedures as requested. Ensures insurance authorizations, tests results, appropriate coding, and other required information is available for the provider for review. Follows-up on designated case management and navigation activities as requested by the RN, MD or NP. Demonstrates flexibility and willingly floats to other areas as assigned. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Graduate of a school of vocational nursing required. Minimum six months experience as an LVN or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a physician back-office setting required. Minimum one year clinical experience in oncology or hematology nursing or infusion center preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates solid knowledge of oncology/hematology disease process and treatments. Job Description Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse B - Inpatient utilizes discretion and independent judgment to provide, coordinate and document direct/indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. If hired into the CN-B position prior to April 1, 2020, an Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum of one year experience required. Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs as needed. Assists in clearing OR suites. May handle human blood and other potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, harmful elements. Has the collaborative responsibility for the treatment and care of the patient from pediatrics through geriatrics. This position is supervised by the Technical Coordinator and reports to the Manager/Director of Perioperative Services. Requirements : Previous experience as a Surgical Technician Current BLS certification. Completion of course for surgical technicians preferred.
