About this Job: General Summary of Position Delivers proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. Receives supervision from the Nurse Leader and functional supervision from the clinical coach/designee. May at times receive functional supervision from other registered nurses. CLINICAL: Utilizes approaches and strategies that support and optimize patient care outcomes that are based on the interdisciplinary plan of care and absolutes of IMOC and Contemporary Primary Nursing. Participates in the Contemporary Primary Nursing Model by acting as a primary nurse or associate nurse for selected patients. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team on the patient plan of care using the Interdisciplinary Model of Care (IMOC). CLINICAL: Takes action to support the National Patient Safety Goals nursing sensitive indicators regulatory requirements (i.e. DC Health TJC) and other identified quality metrics. EDUCATIONAL: Provides input to the orientation program for new staff. EDUCATIONAL: Conducts the individual orientation for new staff. EDUCATIONAL: Conducts and evaluates formal unit-based in-service education programs. EDUCATIONAL: Completes all mandatory competencies within the designated timeframe. ADMINISTRATIVE: Assesses patient care needs establishes priorities and delegates tasks to peers and ancillary support staff as appropriate to scope of practice and unit requirements. ADMINISTRATIVE: Participates in unit-based committees and/or department of nursing committees as applicable. ADMINISTRATIVE: Promotes the standards of Pathway to Excellence through daily practice. Minimal Qualifications Education Associate's degree in Nursing required Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level required to enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of hire date and completion within 4 years of hire date. Experience Prior clinical nursing experience preferred Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) is required for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire. New graduate nurses or new to specialty nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) will have 15 months from date of hire to obtain the EFM certification. Job Summary: Under direct physician supervision, assists providers, nurses and allied health personnel in delivering comprehensive, high quality patient care to Kaiser Permanente members. Essential Responsibilities: Assists the physician in providing comprehensive medical care to targeted patient population in the ambulatory clinic setting by: Preparing the patient for the medical examination. Performing rooming-in, screening activities and patient histories for the appropriate to patient population. Performing assigned clinical tasks and/or procedures. Facilitates smooth and efficient operation of the clinical department by monitoring the flow of patients and intervening as appropriate to minimize wait times and promote a positive experience for the patient. Assists with inventory and requisition of required supplies; keeps exam and procedure rooms adequately stocked at all times. Engages in positive interactions with Kaiser Permanente members, visitors and fellow staff members at all times. Monitor and manage refrigerated medications under the supervision of the practicing physician. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements. Administers medications per KP policy and using the 5 rights of medication administration. Performs basic diagnostic and laboratory tests and specimen collection per KP policy and CLIA regulations. Assist with routine patient education and self-care instructions as directed by providers. Performs other duties as assigned. 
Job Summary: To provide qualified surgical assistance when requested by the surgeon, in order to ensure optimal results for the patient. This position is adjunct to the basic functions of the OR Nurse. Essential Responsibilities: See OR Nurse representative duties. RNs as first assistants in the OR will work interdependently with the surgeon, providing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The Registered Nurse First Assistant will at all times act under the direct supervision of the Surgeon performing only those functions specifically stated in a manner consistent with his/her education and experience. Provides exposure by suctioning sponging and retracting. Handles tissue, implants, etc., as directed by the surgeon during operative procedure. Performs other related duties as directed.

About this Job: Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM General Summary of Position The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. May perform phlebotomy. Utilizes the EMR to propose patient medication refills for provider approval. Completes requisitions for tests (if applicable). Contacts insurance companies for Pre-authorizations for patient medications and specialty referrals including insurance authorization. Floats to other sites/locations within the system as appropriate and performs all duties at multiple sites.
