Document and initial as medications are given and ensure that appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses. Maintain confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents. Report all resident concerns and unavailable medication while administering the medication to the RCD or Wellness Nurse. Restock medication cart after all medication passes. Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system. Assess the residents to determine need for “as needed medication” and appropriately document and report to supervisor. Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager (MCM) or Lead Care Manager (LCM) each shift and report discrepancies to the RCD or Wellness Nurse. Maintain and clean the Medication Room, medication carts, and treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications. Follow re-fill process for medications. Help residents maintain independence and promote dignity and physical safety of each resident adhering to the Sunrise Principles of Service. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: The ideal candidate will oversee the total care and safety of all residents and employees for assigned unit during shift Supervises and assists all nursing personnel in their work performance when necessary Performs duties of Unit Nurse when necessary Document patient histories, administers medication and care as needed, coordinate necessary appointments Monitor residents to ensure that the plans are being followed and that the resident’s and family needs are being met Plan, coordinate, and direct all nursing staff on all shifts on the assigned units Minimum Qualifications include: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in New York State Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a long-term health care setting Strong leadership and management skills Has knowledge of Federal and State health regulations Experience with care plans and strong documentation skills Flexibility in work hours BLS Certification RN License The shifts are Morning (7am to 3pm) Evening (3pm to 11pm) Overnight (11pm to 7am)
