Promotes patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. Participates in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates responsible decision-making in planning, delegating, and providing care based on patient needs and organizational policies. Emergency Services RN: Rapid Assessment and Triage: Evaluate patients' conditions quickly to determine the severity of their injuries or illnesses and prioritize care accordingly. Conducts emergency procedures such as intubation, wound care, and suturing. Implements interventions to stabilize patients, including administering medications, starting IV lines, and providing respiratory support. Performs other duties as assigned. Emergency Department: Our 23-bed Emergency Department is equipped with the latest technology including computerized patient tracking, Radiology Services inside the ER and easy access to Surgery, Intensive Care, and other vital areas of the hospital. We are equipped with the only Heart Cath Labs in the Lakeway Area. The Emergency Department is also the area’s only Designated General Pediatric Emergency Facility, offering specialized equipment and advanced training and certification in caring for emergencies involving children. Position Summary: Provides nursing services to Cardiac Catheterization Lab patients in accordance with established nursing standards and practices; sets-up electrical and hemodynamic transducers and amplifiers; records and obtains hemodynamic, electrical and angiographic data; assesses patient during invasive cardiac procedures and delivers therapy as required. Coordinates patient care with other health care professionals. Responsibilities Prepares patient and equipment for catheterization procedures by preparing site of entry, draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting-up pressure transducers and tubing. Obtains and records hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment. Attends to patient needs during cardiac studies. Develops and contributes to a plan of nursing care for the patient. Administers intravenous and oral medications to patients. Assists in the collection of arterial and venous blood samples and respiratory gases. Precepts/trains new employees/students in the techniques of cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology. Monitors patient’s vital signs during and after cardiovascular procedures. Participates in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Completes nursing history if appropriate. Assesses learning needs of patient and family, develops and initiates teaching plan. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. Clinical expertise and knowledge of unit are such that complex physician issues are resolved without oversight or supervision. Responds appropriately and timely to patients, physicians and other customers needs. Provides 6 credit hours of in-service per year. Member of established active hospital or department committee or subcommittee with 75% participation in meetings. Functions as a role model to peers by cross-training to other departments, and serving as a resource person. Completes department specific checklist and any additional requirements as needed. Performs a variety of special projects and assignments relating to primary responsibility. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of Cath Lab experience, three (3) total years of RN experience. Knowledge of Critical Care Infusions and procedures is a requirement. Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating the Stroke Program at LeConte Medical Center by working in conjunction with the Stroke Medical Director, Stroke Nurse Practitioner, Regulatory, Quality, and Hospital Administration to maintain Primary Stroke Certification. Responsibilities Manages and coordinates stroke patient care during and post hospitalization. Lead development of care plans, protocols, order sets, and other guidelines in the management of stroke including TIAs, ischemic stroke, and hemorrhagic stroke. Facilitates Stroke Community Events including coordinating “screening stations”, arranging for guest speakers, etc. Monitors and provides on-going staff educational opportunities for all levels and departments interacting with the Stroke population . Oversees compliance with stroke education requirements for all hospital nurses in conjunction with the Stroke Manager and ED Stroke Manager. Ensures education and compliance of EMS Collects and analyzes on-going data regarding outcomes of the Stroke Program. Submits required data to the Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies as requested. Examples: patient satisfaction, discharge phone calls, Joint Commission required measures, Get with the Guidelines measures, clinical outcomes, present findings to the FAST Committee and other hospital committees as required.)
