Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The RN-Oncology Infusion must follow ANA Standards Practice in Assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing quality of practice for patients. Follow OSHA hazardous drugs safety regulations and ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy safety and administration regulations. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1.Safely administer chemotherapy/biotherapy agents and document the drug administration in the EMR. This includes but is not limited to, assessment of lab values, MD order and dose/agent double check with 2 RNs prior to starting the infusion. Maintain Chemotherapy/Biotherapy infusion certification card every 2 years. 2.Provide chemotherapy/biotherapy/infusion education as needed to patients r/t care needed and document education given in the EMR. 3.Maintain skills for starting peripheral IVs, accessing/flushing of mediports, accessing and providing dressing changes for PICC and central lines. 4.Perform patient assessments and assess patient toxicities prior to infusions and document assessment and toxicities in the EMR using pre and post infusion/chemotherapy questionnaires. 5.Assess nutrition via questionnaire in the EMR at the beginning of each new cycle of chemotherapy. Assess vital signs including, pain scale, fatigue and distress at each visit. Reconcile patient home medication list in the EMR at each visit. 6.Follow OSHA regulations regarding safe handling of chemotherapy and hazardous drugs including using proper PPE at all times with proper disposal of hazardous drugs Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program 1-3 years of related experience Required License/Certifications Vailed RN license for the State of Texas CHEMO/BIOE Therapy certification; BLS within 30 days of hire (ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration within 12 months of hire for Outpatient Infusion Clinics)
