Responsibilities: As a RN Psych Nurse, you will: Assessment of nursing needs, providing direct care and case management of the patient's care plan. Makes initial assessment and reassessment visits utilizing observation/assessment skills. Informs the physician of the results of the assessment and recommended clinical interventions. Informs the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient's condition and needs. Documents and submits the assessment, progress and discharge notes and other required paperwork in a timely fashion as required by the agency. Manages medical illness; performs psycho ‐ biological interventions. Evaluates medicines to identify possible ineffective drug therapy, adverse reactions, significant effects, drug allergies, side effects and contraindications. Instructs regarding ordered medication regimen and reviews medications and compliance. Administers IM medications.
