With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues, including experts in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, brain surgery and more, Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest. The TRACU (Trauma Recovery Acute Care Unit) is a 33-bed unit that provides care to adult trauma patients. This unit provides care for the patient with acute neurosurgical, orthopedic, and other multisystem trauma injuries. Priority for admission is given to any adult patient with neurosurgical or orthopedic trauma. A variety of interventions including portable ventilators, multisystem trauma care, pain management and blood/blood products administration pre/post op care of adult neurosurgical patients including those requiring ventriculostomy management, may occur in this patient population. Responsibilities Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Acute care experience strongly preferred; TRACU will train nurses that have a strong desire to learn and grow. Currently there are 19 ORs/procedure suites, performing an average of 50 cases/day for both Adult and Pediatric specialties including, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic, ENT, Burns, OMFS, Plastics, Gynaecology and robotics. In July 2018, construction commenced on the new Emanuel West tower which includes brand new operating rooms, PACU, Central Sterile and other support areas. Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Responsibilities Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians. Prepare patients for office visits and procedures. Preforms a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing. Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments. Utilize electronic health record for efficient care. Qualifications One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred. Overview Serving as a Home Health Aide CNA for hospice patients requires a uniquely compassionate person—someone who can manage daily care needs while providing a sense of comfort, stability, and normalcy within the patient’s home. The TRACU (Trauma Recovery Acute Care Unit) is a 33-bed unit that provides care to adult trauma patients. This unit provides care for the patient with acute neurosurgical, orthopedic, and other multisystem trauma injuries. Priority for admission is given to any adult patient with neurosurgical or orthopedic trauma. A variety of interventions including portable ventilators, multisystem trauma care, pain management and blood/blood products administration pre/post op care of adult neurosurgical patients including those requiring ventriculostomy management, may occur in this patient population. Responsibilities Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. This department is also regularly involved in research studies. Accesses and de-accesses implanted ports. Assesses and manages central venous access devices including routine dressing changes, cap changes and intervenes to maintain patency of central venous access devices. Serves as a resource for the health care team in the intravenous access, placement, management, and patient/family education for care and maintenance. Service area is both inpatient and outpatient. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred.
