The Telemetry Units can house 21 patients, 10 semi-private rooms and 1 private room. Also in consideration is the swing rooms counted on AMCU. Four semi-private room are dedicated to the CTS unit. The 4 CTS rooms have the ability for bedside monitors. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy. Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment. May support the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists. Perform and approve daily payroll updates. Reconcile time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval. Prepare, coordinate and execute all staff communications; prepare huddle agendas and lead meeting. Additional Information About the Role 5900 is a unique 30 bed unit that provides care to female patients hospitalized for female related issues, with the primary focus on GYN Oncology. This includes chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom management, pain management, palliative care, and hospice care. The care is moderate to high acuity and includes high complexity interventions. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology trained nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy, psycho-social support and our physician team. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Staff LPN Ambulatory is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider in an ambulatory care setting. Assigned tasks may include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering medications in-office, performing point of care lab testing, assisting with procedures and triaging patient phone calls. The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams in ambulatory, outpatient, clinic, or specialty care settings. The MA assists with patient intake, basic clinical procedures, documentation, scheduling, and maintaining efficient patient flow while ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist physicians and clinical staff during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures. Perform routine clinical tasks including injections, specimen collection, EKGs, point-of-care testing, wound care, and medication administration as permitted by state regulations and organizational policy. Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, verify insurance information, and assist with patient registration and discharge processes. Maintain exam rooms, medical equipment, and clinical supplies in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition. Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards. Educate patients regarding medications, procedures, treatment plans, and discharge instructions under the direction of licensed healthcare providers. Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff. Document patient care activities accurately and timely within the electronic medical record system. Respond professionally to patient inquiries and assist in resolving routine patient concerns. Support overall clinic operations and maintain efficient patient flow throughout the workday. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
