Oceans Healthcare will expand behavioral health services in Jackson. Oceans Behavioral Hospital of Jackson, a 77-bed facility will expand inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and add new services, including an intensive outpatient program. The freestanding hospital will be located on the St. Dominic's campus. The Director, Nursing is responsible for upholding the standards of nursing care as established by the Nurse Practice Act, Psychiatric Standards of Nursing, policy and procedures, and all other external governing and credentialing bodies. The Director of Nursing directs the staff and operation of the Nursing Department at all facility locations; coordinates, plans and manages nursing activities; formulates nursing program goals and objectives; manages nursing positions; evaluates staff; assists in the management of the nursing budget; maintains contacts with individuals both within and outside of the department who might impact on program activities; participates in recruitment and retention programs; determines the quality of nursing care; participates in performance improvement programs; collaborates with clinical instructors for educational programs; represents the Nursing Department in professional and/or community organizations; demonstrates age specific and cultural sensitivity. Oceans Healthcare will expand behavioral health services in Jackson. Oceans Behavioral Hospital of Jackson, a 77-bed facility will expand inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and add new services, including an intensive outpatient program. The freestanding hospital will be located on the St. Dominic's campus. The Director, Nursing is responsible for upholding the standards of nursing care as established by the Nurse Practice Act, Psychiatric Standards of Nursing, policy and procedures, and all other external governing and credentialing bodies. The Director of Nursing directs the staff and operation of the Nursing Department at all facility locations; coordinates, plans and manages nursing activities; formulates nursing program goals and objectives; manages nursing positions; evaluates staff; assists in the management of the nursing budget; maintains contacts with individuals both within and outside of the department who might impact on program activities; participates in recruitment and retention programs; determines the quality of nursing care; participates in performance improvement programs; collaborates with clinical instructors for educational programs; represents the Nursing Department in professional and/or community organizations; demonstrates age specific and cultural sensitivity. Work in collaboration with social work for complex postacute placement and community service resources. 20 % In coordination with nursing, ancillary departments, social work, and the physician, monitor and ensure the treatment plan and steps to prepare for transition or discharge are completed as planned, gaps in care are avoided as well as duplicative or unnecessary services. 10 % Ensure that patients are discharged/transitioned timely and appropriately and that variances from the plan or target discharge/transition date are documented. 10 % Escalate concerns and barriers to appropriate treatment or transition as outlined by the department. 10 % Maintain a working knowledge of facilities and resources available to patients and caregivers. 10 % Specifications Experience Minimum Required 3 years Healthcare/Medical-Acute Care Required.
