How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested. Additional Details Part-time NP/PA Needed for Two Evening Shifts, Weekly. *New Shift Diff Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to be accountable for the care activities, safety and goal achievements of assigned patients through assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient’s response to the care. Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to provide direct patient care, perform nursing procedures, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting as observed by the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager, and patient/family feedback unless otherwise noted. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Plans, implements and evaluates individualized care based on patient assessment, medical plan of care and the age and/or thedevelopmental stages of the patient. Performs nursing procedures and clinical tasks specific to diagnostic and interventional cardiology patients. Provides direct patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Ensures quality of care as observed by the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and supported by patient and family feedback. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room position is to operationalize the care delivery system in the Operating Room through the skillful directing, coaching, support, and delegation to staff in the provision of clinically and fiscally sound care and services to achieve patient/family goals, efficiency, and safety. The Nurse Manager has 24 hours responsibility for the unit/service area and develops dynamically functioning surgical teams. She/he sustains the daily operational functioning of the surgical service and makes immediate modifications to prevent impediments and delays. This role is also accountable for the execution of the unit/service area Performance Improvement Plan. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room has extensive knowledge of the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, AORN Standards, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards, Patient Bill of Rights, Department of Health Standards, Patient/Family Centered Principles Policies and Procedures. She/he engenders confidence, trust and fosters collaborative/collegial relationships that generate staff achievement and pride. As a license professional and member of the University Hospital leadership team, the Nurse Manager exemplifies the behavioral expectations articulated for this role. Qualifications Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of (3) years clinical care delivery experience. Certification in Quality Improvement Techniques is preferred. BLS (CPR) is required.

Under the direction of the RN, the Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA) performs the activities related to the implementation of nursing care plans and the nursing standards, policies and procedures. The PNA is responsible for contributing to the development, evaluation and reassessment of care plans through observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and physical status. The PNA is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the safe and therapeutic environment of the unit. The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 19 - 64) and geriatric (ages 65 +). Competencies: Supervises or assists in after meal care (removing trays, encouraging patients in brushing teeth, washing up, etc.). Serves food trays. Assists with feeding as indicated. Assists patients in preparing for activity and social programs, as per unit program schedules. Answers call bells promptly. Changes bed linens. Assists or supervises patients to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed. Reports all changes in the patient's condition to the Charge/Staff Nurse as soon as practical. Keeps floors dry. Reports spills immediately. Maintains intake and output records as instructed. Greets and escorts patient to his/her room. Informs the Charge/Staff Nurse of equipment and supply needs. Records all supplies and equipment utilized for appropriate procedures to Charge/Staff Nurse. Assists in transporting patients to/from appointments, activities and social programs, etc. as necessary/assigned. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient care information. Schedule: Full-time, 11pm - 7am, Monday - Friday and Working Every other weekend. Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
