Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospitalist (Admitting) to join our community-based hospital in Attleboro, MA. We are a patient-focused organization and looking to grow our team with hospitalists who are dedicated to providing meaningful patient care. What started as a 15-bed facility over 100 years ago has grown to be a 142-bed facility. We admit over 7,000 individuals each year. About the job: Per diem schedule Provide direct patient care to our communities in a well-established community hospital Opportunity to expand on expertise or interest in geriatrics, oncology, or other subspecialty consultation Patient-centric mindset to provide the highest-quality service and patient care Work alongside other passionate hospitalists and advanced practitioners Work cross-functionally with primary care providers and other specialties Focus on admitting, with typical shifts inclusive of 9am-7pm and 3pm-1am, and holidays Average of 9-12 admissions per shift No procedures required Requirements: Graduate of an accredited and/or approved Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner program, or Physician Assistant program Current license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or ability to obtain Requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in Inpatient Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Current certification in CPR, BLS, and ACLS required Interest in working full time, preferred Location : 211 Park Street, Attleboro, MA Why Sturdy Health: Located in Attleboro, MA, Sturdy Health is an integrated health care system that offers hospital-based care, emergency care, urgent care, primary care, and a wide range of specialty care at 26 ambulatory locations throughout our region. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 - Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the laboratory process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients; responsibilities are to provide patient care in an ambulatory care setting under the clinical supervision of a physician or MD within the guidelines of nursing process and nurse practitioner protocols as outlined in Patient Care Guidelines for Nurse Practitioners. Report to: Medical Director and Practice Manager (Administratively) Manages: N/A Coordinates Assignments, Workflow, and Activities/Provides for Guidance: Medical Assistant Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school, master prepared with a degree as a Nurse Practitioner Massachusetts licensure. Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role and successful completion of SMH orientation program Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience: Command of verbal and written English Operation of clinical equipment demonstrates clinical competence, Positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills Three to five years medical office experience Educational Requirements: Master in Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner License/Certification: CPR certification. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
