Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN): As a vital member of our health care team, you’ll provide top-notch patient care within your assigned department or unit. Qualifications What We’re Looking For: Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure. BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply! For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer. Experience: At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program). Additional clinical experience may be required, depending on the department. Current acute care hospital experience, ambulatory surgery/procedure pre-op/post-op experience preferred; recovery and discharge experience preferred. Skills & Qualities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference. Licensure Licensure & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. The Surgical Services department comprises areas in both the outpatient and inpatient surgical areas: 30 outpatient beds located on the 2nd 32 private inpatient beds on the 6th Primary patient population/diagnoses include elective, urgent, and emergent surgical cases: Orthopedic General Surgery Gynecological Urology Ear, Nose, &Throat Vascular Plastics Neruosurgery Wound Debridement Pain management Cath Lab Endoscopy Responsibilities Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Acute care experience with surgical/post procedural background preferred. Pediatric background helpful, but not required. This position is expected to cross-train to both inpatient and outpatient surgical areas and maintain competency to care for patients. Orientation and education will be provided to both areas to ensure appropriate training for the employee. This position is required to take call, with a 45-minute response, in the outpatient setting as required by unit expectations. The position requires Holiday and weekend rotation and varied shift start times. Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
