Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Overview Position Overview Legacy Health offers an exciting growth opportunity to join a well-established team of collaborative and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs). This role provides the opportunity to practice across both Level III and Level IV NICU settings within the Legacy system. NNPs are integral to delivery attendance and the medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including daily rounding on NNP service patients. In addition to clinical care, the role includes telemedicine resuscitation coverage for Legacy Level I nursery sites and opportunities to contribute to non-clinical initiatives that support the highest standards of care for NICU patients and their families. Level IV NICU – Randall Children’s Hospital The Level IV, 45-bed NICU is located within Randall Children’s Hospital, a freestanding, nine-story pediatric facility. This unit provides comprehensive care supported by a full range of pediatric subspecialties, including cardiac and neurosurgical services, genetics, and ECMO. Care is delivered within a family-integrated model, supported by a dedicated pediatric transport team. Notably, this role does not require transport responsibilities. Level III NICU – Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center The Level III, 22-bed NICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is a growing unit actively expanding its NNP team. Scheduling is flexible and evolving, with 12-, 16-, and 24-hour shift options available to support work-life balance and team coverage. Scheduling & Practice Model This position is based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. NNPs rotate between both NICU sites, with frequency tailored to individual preferences while ensuring 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overview LPNs take care of patients that have long term treatment needs. Often, these patients do not have a safe discharge plan to complete the treatment elsewhere and therefore continue to have a bed in the hospital. LPNs could have the opportunity to have hands on experience with wound care and IV antibiotics, among other long term care treatment. LPNs may often work beside acute care RNs but not directly in acute patient care areas. They work in collaboration with a C.N.A., charge RN, unit coordinator and physician. LPN staff with a variety of experience and backgrounds work on this unit. We strive to support learning and continuted education with all staff. Complex discharge units have medically stable but complex patients who are pending a safe discharge plan. The LPN must think critically, be able to problem solve and be ready to learn. Excellent communication with teammates and patients is essential. The ability to maintain compassion for this complex patient population is also essential. Responsibilities Assessment : Contributes to and communicates age appropriate admission and daily bio/psycho/social assessments. Collects, reports and records objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner. Observes the patient's condition or changes in condition. Responsibilities Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians. Prepare patients for office visits and procedures. Preforms a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing. Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments. Utilize electronic health record for efficient care. Qualifications One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred. Education: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience; or Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces; or Completion of Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program (Oregon only) Licensure MA certification required within one year, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). MA certification requirement may be met instead by current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and national EMT registration (NREMT). Oregon only. Washington State certification as a MA or Interim MA required for all who work or float in Washington. Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association.
