RN (School Nurse) Needed Monday-Friday Weekly Pay! SUMMARY Under general supervision, is responsible for providing medical treatment, first aid, emergency care and medications for students in the school programs, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with company policies, the regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies and the standards of the profession. Keeps progress notes under supervision of registered nurse for each student and summarizes for quarterly, semi-annual and annual reviews. Provides direct hygiene and health instruction to staff, students receiving services and families as required. Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment. Reports to consulting physician and Infection Control Nurse. Implements appropriate protective and preventive measures. Provides staff training in regard to infection control regularly and as needed. Provides first aid to students in need of immediate care, with referral to registered nurse, private physician or outside emergency services as necessary. Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements. Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data of students via progress notes. Administers medications as prescribed. Supervises secured storage of medications. Refers all consults and diagnostic reports to registered nurse for review. Transports students to appointments as necessary. Maintains Nursing Office. Orders supplies and equipment as required. Visits students at home as requested by Director or designee. Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing Services field. Job Summary The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with wounds, ostomies, or skin integrity concerns.
