Responsibilities The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure. The PACU RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during the post-operative phases of the perioperative stay. The PACU RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited nursing program. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of 1 year previous PACU experience REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse. Certified though the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Nurse Director and the direct supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant provides a variety of patient care activities across life span and accommodative services for assigned patients. These activities are carried out according to hospital policy, the hospital mission statement, and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Certification in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant.
