Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor. Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment. Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Card. Assures exam/procedure room contains appropriate supplies, equipment, forms and educational materials are available and ready for use during visit/procedure. Checks equipment are in safe working order and cleans room after use. Provides health teaching/education or advice on routine or self-limiting medical conditions, procedures, tests, surgeries, self-injections, etc. Utilizes standardized tools to determine patients level of engagement in self-care as directed by RN. Uses KP HealthConnect and other information systems to document all pertinent data and outcomes of nursing care according to standardized procedures and policies such as and not limited to the use of SBAR, SOAP or APIE, KP HealthConnect smarttools, etc. Updates demographic/historical clinical data gathered in electronic medical record. Clinical Procedures: Performs diagnostic tests, therapies and procedures within scope of practice competently and with maintenance of proficiency according to: a) specific department standards on core clinical tasks (see departments list of core skills); b) application of knowledge and skills appropriate to developmental age of patient; and c) established policies such as and not limited to patient safety, aseptic and sterile techniques and infection control. Responsibilities Works in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Assigned principal responsibility for primary health care of patients under professional medical direction from physicians. Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol. Plans and implements and a physician reviews and confirms health care goals for patients. Responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. Refers patients to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. Experience: Clinical experience requirements are dependent upon the specific position, and include a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) required. Applicable state license as a Nurse Practitioner w/Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. Current certification dependent upon the specific position to include Basic Life Support (CPR) from the American Heart Association. Pay Range USD $57.75 - USD $86.05 /Hr.
