Summary The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant II to work within the Division of Vascular Surgery. The Medical Assistant will provide support to clinicians and patients before and after their appointments and will work directly with multiple providers to provide high-quality patient care. Job Duties Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments. Conducts patient outreach and post operative patient follow up calls. Manages in-basket messages and coordinates incoming patient referrals. Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork. The Surgery division at MD Anderson Cancer Center is dedicated to advancing oncologic surgery in the nation and the world through safe, high-quality, multidisciplinary patient care, research and education. The division is made up of 10 specialized academic departments and includes surgeons, advanced practice providers, researchers and our administrative teams. We work closely with our partners across the institution, particularly those in Perioperative Services, and Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine as well as through our committees to make improvements to our operating room processes to provide even better care for our patients. The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinical research professional and registered nurse who combines strong leadership capabilities with deep knowledge of clinical trials.
