The Scheduling Assistant is a Caregiver/Med Passer who is also responsible for arranging staff coverage for the care team department based on established guidelines under the direction of the Care Team Manager. The Scheduling Assistant records absences in scheduling software and secures replacements as needed. The Scheduling Assistant must have excellent organization, problem solving, and customer service skills. Responsibilities Maintains schedule for care team department ensuring vacant shifts are filled to meet staffing requirements. Supports and maintains effective and positive communication and working relations with team members and managers. Communicates clearly and effectively over the phone, in person, and in writing with caregivers and members of the management team. Manages recordkeeping to ensure staffing in accordance with established standards that includes management of call offs and replacements, and attendance. Maintain records related to time off requests, approvals and denials, tardiness, and missed punches in accordance with established procedures. Daily correction of missed caregiver punches/tracking of missed lunches/breaks. Provides care to residents or passes medication per the direction of the Care Team Manager/ALM/BHM or Executive Director. Must be available to be on-call at least every other weekend to take call-offs including after regular business hours. Department Overview Our cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) is a 25-bed pediatric critical care unit for patients with complex conditions and their families. As a member of the largest pediatric heart program in the state, our team works closely with more than 200 interdisciplinary professionals dedicated to the care of children with life-changing cardiovascular diagnoses. In this unit, we care for patients along their continuum of acute recovery to provide for their changing physical and emotional needs as we prepare them to return home. We specialize in caring for children experiencing heart failure, after repair of congenital heart defects and heart catheterization, and before and after transplant. We routinely utilize extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and ventricular assist devices (VAD) in the care we provide. Our patient population requires hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, maintenance of systemic perfusion, and management of organ failure. Are you an experienced Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) living in Minnesota looking to support RN Directors of Health Services in Assisted Living Senior Communities by working in a remote, part-time role? Are you knowledgeable about the processes and regulations for Minnesota Assisted Living sites? If you live in Minnesota and if you answered “yes,” we want you on our After-Hours RN team at Cassia! In this RN After Hours role, your primary job is triaging calls from clinical staff for emergency situations. This position is actively working the entire shift answering calls and completing documentation from calls. This role is an extension of the site DHS. You will be expected to reach out to hospitals, families, providers, and at times site directors to coordinate care. In this role, you will be required to become licensed in IA, ND, FL and CO , too and get a TB gold blood test. Cassia will pay for these expenses and give you a cellphone, laptop, monitor, mouse, and keyboard to use. You must have Director of Health Services experience or Assisted Living experience to be considered for these roles. Position Type: Part-Time, Remote Shifts Available (Every other weekend on rotating block schedule): Every other Weekend Days 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Pay: $36 / hour After-Hours RN Responsibilities: Triage incoming after-hours calls from clinical staff regarding urgent and emergent resident situations. Assess, prioritize, and provide clinical guidance to ensure appropriate and timely care. Coordinate care by communicating with hospitals, providers, families, and site leadership as needed. Serve as an extension of site DHS to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care. Document all calls, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Actively monitor and respond to calls throughout the entire shift. Provide clear, compassionate, and professional communication to Assisted Living staff, residents, and families. Build trust through responsiveness, clinical expertise, and consistent follow-through. After-Hours RN Qualifications: Must have a current Minnesota RN license and be in good standing. Ability to come to the Edina, MN corporate office for 1 day of training and an annual March meeting and 1-5 days of training at a Cassia site near you based on experience. Prior RN experience required; must be comfortable with resident care processes in AL setting and/or long-term care. Must have Assisted Living experience. Director of Health Services experience preferred, but not required. Be responsive and knowledgeable to earn trust from Assisted Living staff, residents, and families. Must have strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills. Have experience with electronic medical records, possess a high comfort level learning new technology programs, possess excellent internet connection Self-starter with a desire to be a part of our RN Triage team that delivers the continuity of care during after-hours.
