Advanced Practice Provider II – (Nurse Practitioner II or Physician Assistant II) for Diabetes & Endocrinology

Overview The Strelitz Diabetes Center, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders Division, Department of Medicine is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant, and educator. The main role of the position will include outpatient care of patients as well as in-patient consulting and conducting hospital inpatient rounds. Primary focus will be on patients with diabetes mellitus but may also include other endocrine disorders. Responsibilities Provide medical care to patients in an office/ hospital setting. Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care. Collaborate with peers, and support staff. Participate in academic/clinical/research activates as needed. Participate in education evaluations and career development of students, residents, fellow, and staff. Participate in committees as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Nurse Practitioner must have MSN and must be a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant must have an MPA, and must be a licensed Physician Assistant within the Commonwealth of Virginia. EXPERIENCE PREFFERRED: Three years of experience as an APP is preferred. Experience in taking care of diabetes patients or having a certification in diabetes education. Overview Under the daily supervision of the Practice Manager, and Clinical Supervision of a Psychiatrist, this role functions as a physician assistant within EVMS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This role will enable the Department Psychiatrists to expand their capacity to perform new patient comprehensive evaluations, and to provide continuous patient care for patients that have established and determined diagnosis. Utilizes DSM5 principles to modify patient diagnoses and treatment under the direction of a supervising psychiatrist. This position will work under the direction and guidance of the Emergency Department psychiatrist, within the Emergency Department of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, as well as other duties assigned by the EVMS Department of Psychiatry. Medical Assistant

Overview This is a position for a Medical Assistant with the Department of Family Medicine. Under direct supervision this position will assist with clinical duties and provide direct patient care, including taking vitals, administering meds/treatments, assisting physicians, doing wound care, patient education, documentation, and coordinating care, labs, and follow-ups in a fast-paced office. Responsibilities Triage incoming patients by obtaining vital signs, following standing triage orders, reconcile medication list, reconcile allergies, make sure immunizations are up to date and prepare patient for the visit. Completes delegated tasks from the current and prior day i.e.: patient messages, prescription refills, lab results, referrals, home health agency requests, medication prior authorizations, patient forms, and physician follow-up. Overview This is a full-time position for a Medical Assistant within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, providing outpatient care to patients and supporting physicians across all clinical areas of the practice. The role is responsible for assisting providers and nurses with patient examinations, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality, patient-centered care. This position is primarily based out of the Norfolk office location, however travel will be required to all office locations and throughout all divisions to meet the department’s demands. Responsibilities Clinical Patient Care and Procedural Support – 60% Assist physicians, providers, and nurses in the daily care of patients. Perform urodynamic testing under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Obtain labs, clinic notes, inpatient records, and specialty reports from referring providers. Document all patient information accurately in the EMR. Monitor and complete EMR tasks daily.
