Reporting to the Administrator of the young adult center, the Chief Nursing Officer provides strategic and operational leadership to plan, organize and direct the daily operations in accordance with regulatory guidelines and standards. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning: Participate in ESC Strategic Planning Committee in partnership with the Board of Directors and be accountable to meeting the agreed upon metrics for monitoring success. Establish and implement an interdisciplinary vision that provides inventive, holistic care and education of unparalleled quality to transform the lives of young adults with medical complexities. Regulatory Compliance: Drive quality care by setting and upholding high standards of nursing practice, ensuring every young adult receives personalized, top-tier care in alignment with regulatory guidelines. Operational Leadership: In collaboration with Administrator and Chief Medical Officer, lead an interdisciplinary team in the development of an innovative care model that will include enhanced programming, clinical pathways and new staffing patterns for our young adult center. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist (Certified Registered) position is to administeranesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; (3) post-anesthesia care; and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position for Medical Special Procedures is to be responsible for the care of pediatric and adult patients undergoing endoscopic and other gastro-intestinal related procedures during the pre-procedural, procedural and post-procedural phases. Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to be accountable for the care activities, safety and goal achievements of assigned patients through assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient’s response to the care. These responsibilities also include patient education and discharge planning. The Registered Professional Nurse places emphasis on mobilizing patients and preventing skin breakdown, falls and implements the appropriate measures to achieve this. The Registered Professional Nurse is a member of a designated care team and collaborates, coordinates and guides team members in planning patient care in a safe environment and achieving patient care goals according to the patient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations. The competent practice of the Professional Registered Nurse is evidenced by patient/family goal achievement, patient/family satisfaction, are and services demonstrated and thoroughly documented in accordance with American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards Sentinel Event Alert Recommendation, Patient/Family Centered Principles, Department of Health Standards and University Hospital Policies and Procedures. As a professional licensed staff and member of an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Professional Nurse exemplifies the behavioral expectations articulated for this role and the Nursing Department Philosophy. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. PALS and BLS required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in basic life support (BLS). Phlebotomy Certification or IV Certification is required. Proficiency in the English language is required. Successful completion of a Progressive Care Course or Progressive Care Certification preferred. Pediatric or Adult Medical/Surgical experience is preferred. Ability to employ problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to organize care/activities of multiple patients.
