Reviews client medications, controlled substance logs, inventory, and medication refills on a daily basis Perform inventory of client medications, OTC and PRN medications, emergency supplies, and other medical supplies on a weekly basis and orders supplies as required to ensure stock Complete daily, weekly, and monthly audits in medical department and off-site recovery residences in collaboration with other medical staff members Works within State of Arizona Board of Nursing Scope of Practice Responsible for Medical Services to be in compliance with Federal and state regulations in regard to : Medication inventory Medical orders carried out Adequate security is maintained Physical examination and medical evaluations performed on all clients as required Special provisions for the treatment of pregnant clients Urinalysis screenings are conducted on all prospective and current clients as required Recalls conducted in accordance with program protocol Maintain accurate records Participate in Treatment Teams, Department Head and General Staff meetings Conduct performance improvement activities and prepare monthly reports Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Participates in in-service training and continuing education as necessary or required to safely and effectively perform job Minimum Qualifications Graduated from an accredited school of nursing Registered Nurse (RN) l icensed Current BLS certification Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills, organizational skills, and detail-oriented Strong computer skills and knowledge of EHR, ePrescribe software, Word, Outlook, and Excel Prior experience in substance abuse or mental health treatment preferred Ability to assess client’s physical/emotional condition in a short period of time Accuracy of record keeping, i.e.; maintaining client charts and narcotic inventory Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations Leadership ability, especially in case of medical emergencies Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards Skill in performing clinical and medical procedures Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State & CARF standards & regulations Fundamental knowledge of professional nursing principles, techniques, basic addiction medicine science, and of community health and welfare resources.
