A Brief Overview Ahuja 6 th floor is a 36-bed medical-surgical, telemetry, and neuro floor. Our patients range from young adult to geriatric, and have a variety of different medical diagnoses. On the 6 th floor we are committed to providing safe patient care, and we utilize an interdisciplinary team to ensure all of our patients’ needs are being addressed in an efficient manner. The staff consists of RN’s, LPN’s, PCNA’s, nurse managers, and clerical staff; in addition to these positions, we also use The Care Teams of Tomorrow model, which created various positions focusing on supporting bedside staff members. A caregiver in this position works nights/7pm-7am/40hrs per week/3-12's, and 4 hours from home. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. A Brief Overview This position is for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 7pm to 7:30am. The Flex Unit serves as an overflow unit and consists of curtained patient spaces with half walls rather than traditional private rooms. Nurses working on this unit will need to be comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where patient volume and operational needs can change quickly. At times, the team will be responsible for opening the unit and admitting patients, while at other times they will be preparing patients for transfer as the unit transitions toward closure.
