Perioperative nurses have the opportunity to care for patients from the following surgical specialties; General Surgery, Robotics, Gynecology, Breast Surgery, Orthopedic, Urology, and Vascular. Pre-Operative Unit (Pre-Op) is the entry point for many patients having surgical procedures. This unit provides pre-arrival education and readiness. The Operating Room (OR) at Unity Hospital offers elective and emergency surgeries performed daily in our 14 operating rooms. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a 14-bed critical care unit providing care for patients who are recovering from surgery. How the Perioperative Explore Program works: Complete learning experiences in our pre-operative, operative, and recovery units. This immersive program provides hands-on training alongside an experienced nurse preceptor. Participate in weekly discussions, simulations, or educational meetings.
