DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assume responsibilities for and direct activities relating to health and nursing care of all residents. • May be responsible for assisting with administration of medication and treatments. • Accurate reporting and documentation of resident status and care needs information. • Assist resident's attending physician during visits/rounds as needed. • Report to physicians residents' condition changes, etc., as indicated. • Will schedule and obtain laboratory specimens as ordered by the physician or Medical Director. • Will assist with follow-through or may initiate precautionary measures in case of suspected infection in cooperation with the DON • Assign personnel and make staff adjustments according to needed coverage to meet resident needs. • Acquire replacement staff when an employee calls in; assist with scheduling as needed. •Responsible for supervision of nursing staff, including LPNs and CNAs PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS • The ability to work in a team concept and communicate effectively with staff at all levels, community groups, families and residents. • The ability to relate to people in a manner to gain confidence and establish support. • The ability to organize, plan and manage the activities of a multi-discipline program. • The flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and situations. Salary Range: $48- $52 / hour. 
Schedule: per diem, days, typically at least 1 shift/week This is a float position for our primary care sites, you will be asked to cover multiple practice locations based on practice needs and scheduling holes. This individual will perform newborn evaluation and resuscitation, as needed. The midwife will perform assessment and treatment at Canandaigua Medical Group to include, but not limited to: Vaginal infections, Pelvic Pain, Abnormal bleeding, Pre-term labor, SRM (spontaneous rupture of membranes), Labor checks, Infertility, OB checks, Birth control, STD’s (sexually transmitted diseases), Condyloma, IUD insertion, Endometrial biopsies, Pessary fitting and management and postpartum care. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Must possess an unrestricted New York Midwife license. Excellent communication skills and ability to form collaborative partnerships across all service settings. Must be authorized to prescribe and administer drugs in the state of New York. Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EPIC).
