Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements: Per nursing licensure, associate’s degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred. One (1) year of nursing experience required. Psychiatric/chemical dependency experience preferred. Current RN license in the state of Texas. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days. Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed within 60 days of new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting. Additional training to be completed with respective timeline. Knowledge of Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Treatment in the State of Texas must be able to identify and address the special needs of adolescent, adult, geriatric patients, must also be able to communicate effectively with the patient, family, or additional resources involved in referral. Responsibilities and Duties of Caregivers: In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to): Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving Medication reminders Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises Dementia care Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc. Qualifications and Skills of Caregivers: High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. Must be able to Transfer 50 lbs without assistance Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance Pass a background check 6 months to 1-year experience preferred Must be able to pass a drug test ( upon hire & randomly ) Right at Home is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates, supports and promotes diversity and inclusion.
