Description Kindred Hospital South Florida - Hollywood is a 89-bed freestanding long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. For those who need special medical attention, we offer two negative pressure rooms and an in-house pharmacy. Job Summary Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel. Essential Functions Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care. Provides general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient and application of binder or anti embolic stockings, bed bath, oral/hair/back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over bed table, and bedside stand, straightening patient room and other general care necessary during the shift. OVERVIEW: Provide quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide individualized attention which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing · Knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provide support to the resident according to the care plan. Contribute to the care planning process by providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs and preferences · Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals’ care requirements, and scope of practice · Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them.
