Delivers psychiatric nursing, general health and nursing care specific to the requirements of the clinical unit or the units’ clinical treatment program. Directs the implementation and evaluation of documentation for the nursing process to ensure the utilization of current standards of nursing practice. Implements and monitors administrative responsibilities of the unit. Manages staff to adhere to the Hospital’s philosophy on non-violent restraint and seclusion. Ensures all staff are promptly and properly oriented to the unit. Protects confidentiality of information in written, electronic and verbal communication per HIPPA law and Hospital policy. Reports potential or actual patient safety concerns, medication errors, and/or near misses. Ensures unit staff adheres to treatment plans and unit schedule, including co-leading groups.
