The J52 unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with a broad range of medical and surgical conditions. This includes individuals preparing for pre-cardiac catheterization and PTCAs, as well as those undergoing electrophysiological studies for arrhythmias, AICD or pacemaker placement, and those experiencing unstable angina. The unit also cares for post–thoracic surgery patients recovering from procedures such as lobectomies, pneumonectomies, thoracoscopic bilateral lung volume reduction for emphysema, and esophagogastrectomies. As a PCNA on this team, you will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing and warm environment for patients. A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
