Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. Infection Control Nurses at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center are proficient in evidence-based nursing practices and function as liaisons between all departments and Infection Control Committees responsible for infection control and prevention services ensuring adherence to all infection control policies and procedures. Additional duties include: Collaborating with multi-disciplinary treatment teams to mitigate potential for infectious disease. Developing infection control risk assessment and plan along with educational programs for staff and patients. Evaluating the effectiveness of the infection control program and revising as needed. Leading annual flu prevention, treatment, and reporting. Completing of documentation and preparing comprehensive reports. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are: Licensed and currently registered as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and 2 years of post-licensure nursing experience.
