Responds to behavioral emergencies throughout the hospital and collaborates with the interdisciplinary BERT team to ensure patient and staff safety. Is knowledgeable of the regulatory standards related to the care of hospitalized patients with mental health needs and ensures compliance with those standards. May facilitate required clinical and diagnostic work up to ensure that it is completed prior to approving the patient for a specialty appointment. Refers unfunded patients for financial counseling.
