The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) provides care for children with congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension and acquired heart disease, serving patients from neonate through adulthood (for adults with congenital heart disease). Qualifications EDUCATION – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) EXPERIENCE –One year nursing experience. Candidates with pediatric inpatient, ED, and/or ICU experience, and/or adult ICU or ED experience strongly preferred. Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times and monitors other staff for compliance. Assists in preparation and draping of patient and operative site. Demonstrates knowledge of and correct procedure in managing patient with system specific procedures. Removes and reports all damaged or unsafe equipment. Assists with post procedure workload including: cleaning room between procedures, putting away all unused supplies & setting up for the next procedure. Actively participates in OR turnover . Position Requirements Licensure/Certification/Registration: State of Colorado Surgical Registry required . Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross . Current CST Certification from NBSTSA preferred. Education: Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians. Experience: One year of experience as a Surg ical Technician. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and multiple surgical specialties. Demonstrates good organizational skills.
