Job Description The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Lung Transplant is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Advanced Lung Disease Service (ALDS). UCSF is ranked #8 nationally in pulmonology and lung transplant has had significantly higher-than-expected survival rates for post-lung transplant recipients for more than 13 years consecutively! The UCSF team consists of highly experienced physicians, surgeons, APPs, nurses, social workers, pharmacists and many others that provide quality care for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. Job Description UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital is recognized throughout the world as a leader in health care, known for innovation, technology and compassionate care. Our 183-bed UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital has more than 150 specialists in more than 40 areas of medicine. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring. The unit has 20 beds for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. More than 1,000 children per year are admitted into the intensive care units at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital arriving via ambulance, helicopter and airplane from throughout the western United States. The Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP) is a 18-bed unit for infants and children suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. The TCU provides care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, titration of anticoagulant therapy and other infusion, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery). Patients requiring respiratory support including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula and patients requiring mechanical ventilation with tracheostomy in place are also routinely admitted to the TCUP.
