Order and interpret labs, diagnostics, and therapy-specific tests. Oversee and perform IV, IM, and SC medication administration and monitor for side effects or adverse events. Create, document, and update individualized infusion care plans and maintain thorough, timely documentation in the EHR. Conduct initial patient evaluations for therapy appropriateness, including payer criteria and clinical suitability for infusion center setting. Maintain open, timely communication with medical directors, referring physicians, and interdisciplinary staff regarding care coordination. Identify urgent or emergent reactions during infusion, initiate appropriate interventions, and coordinate emergency transfers when necessary. Serve as a clinical leader within the infusion center team; provide guidance to infusion nurses and support staff on patient care and clinical protocols.
