Job Summary Responsible for planning and providing nursing care to patients according to AORN Standards of Nursing Practice and Hospital policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process to implement goal-directed nursing care for a defined group of patients. Monitor medical condition of assigned patients at all times and report to Nursing Supervisor and Physician or designee any patient a=care problems, changes in condition or unexpected occurrences. Assess patient’s healthcare status based upon physical examination, related reports and records and consultation with appropriate personnel. Identify priorities and provide immediate intervention on admission based on intraoperative report and physical assessment. Educate patients/family regarding condition, treatment, discharge/transfer planning and follow up examinations if needed. Seek feedback from patients/family to evaluate understanding and document. Perform a variety of nursing skills in compliance with physician orders and established Hospital policies and procedures.
