Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 patient support. Meet agency infection control, quality, and compliance standards. Attend required meetings, team conferences, and continuing education. The APP will independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients; order and interpret diagnostic testing; perform procedures within scope and credentialing; and reassess patients throughout their stay. This role works collaboratively with physicians, nursing, consultants, and ED/inpatient teams to facilitate efficient patient throughput, determine appropriate disposition, and ensure safe transitions of care. The APP will also contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, education, and professional development initiatives. Coverage is needed for a minimum of 1-2 work shifts per month. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs. Responsibilities: Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan. Works in collaboration with the health care team. Performs and interprets common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals. Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals. May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license through applicable state board and Cleveland Clinic policies. Educates patients and answers questions regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards. Participates in medical team rounds; collaborates with nursing, medical and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care. Refers patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment. Ensures continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patient and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team or with other specialty areas as necessary. Participates in quality monitoring thru the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a periodic basis to assure quality care. Additionally, Unit 52 will remain open for highly complex epilepsy cases, providing opportunities to expand neuro expertise and collaborate across pediatric and adult populations. On a daily basis, the Assistant Nurse Manager facilitates communication among nursing staff, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include real-time clinical support, evaluation and coaching of nursing staff, performance management, and initial corrective actions when needed. You will partner with Nurse Managers to address unit-based operational and patient care issues, monitors attendance and workflow concerns, and proactively escalates significant clinical or performance matters—positioning this role as both a clinical expert and a key operational leader within a cutting-edge neuro epilepsy program. A caregiver in this position works 7:00pm—7:30am| night shifts | 36 hours. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers. Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.
