Job Description Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Medical Director, guided by the policies and procedures of the Ambulatory Care Centers, and in collaboration with the physicians and other clinical staff in UCSF’s Cardiology Clinics, the Clinical Nurse 2 is responsible for providing safe, efficient nursing care to patients in the UCSF Stanyan outpatient Multispecialty practice. Triage patients and responds appropriately according to protocol and nursing assessment. The Clinical Nurse 2 utilizes the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation) to provide safe and therapeutic clinical care. The Clinical Nurse 2 also provides clinical support to Providers and participates as part of the health care team to assure coordination and continuity of patient care. Performs nursing activities as ordered by the physician, including electrocardiograms, and intravenous insertion administration of cardiac ultrasound enhancing contrast. The Clinical Nurse 2 is responsible for triage on behalf of the practice both in person/video and through telephone and electronic communication such as in-basket messaging and any other electronic communication portal.
