Description Responsible for greeting customers, scheduling appointments, receiving/routing telephone calls, verifying patient information, & collecting payments. Captures/records vital signs: blood pressure; weight; height; heart rate; temperature; respiration; O2 saturation. Updates patient medical history; weight changes; surgeries; medications; diagnoses; allergies; concerns; births; deaths; family medical history. Follows nursing process for assessments, planning, intervention, & evaluation, including physical/psychosocial needs of patients. Practices within scope/standards of care. Performs general nursing care; vital signs, immunizations, wound care, administration of medications/treatments, and assists with clinical procedures, under the supervision of the physician. Assists with clinical procedures: prepares instruments; seals/labels specimen samples; performs wound care including applying/removing bandages, cleansing, flushing, applying medication; suture removal; and immunizations. Responsibilities Are you ready to challenge the expected to deliver the extraordinary? Under the direct supervision of a collaborative physician, physician site leader, and practice manager, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients within a detailed scope of practice. The scope of practice identifies the range of clinical modalities and protocols agreed upon between the NP/PA and collaborative physician. Within the ambulatory care setting, under the collaborative physician and scope of practice, the NP/PA completes physicals; orders diagnostic and therapeutic modalities: e.g., laboratory, x-ray, EKG, etc.; performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management; prescribes medications; instructs and educates patients and their families in proper healthcare, appropriate illness prevention, and home care; and documents in the patient chart progress notes, orders, etc. These aforementioned responsibilities are performed under the scope of practice to optimize clinical outcomes. The NP/PA must be credentialed as a mid-level provider by same Hospital(s) in which the collaborative physician has admitting privileges. This opportunity is based in Winchester, Illinois.
