The infusion center RN oversees and directs the care of patients across all ages and diagnosis with a diverse range of infusion services. The infusion center RN is responsible for the care of medial and surgical patients of all ages and demographics with varying degrees of services and serves as the primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care. Evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for patients in need of intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures. Determines and appropriately cannulates venipuncture sites in order to administer intravenous therapy treatments. Assists with obtaining insurance authorizations when needed. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous therapy. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
