Unit Summary: This unit is a 21-bed unit that provides leading- edge, collaborative, and comprehensive care for adult patients with a variety of blood and bone marrow disorders. As a part of the VCU Massey Cancer Center, the largest adult stem cell and bone marrow transplant provider in all of Virginia, we offer the latest FDA- approved CAR-T immunotherapies, clinical trials testing new and promising forms of cellular immunotherapies, as well as all forms of stem cell and bone marrow transplantation. We provide both outpatient and inpatient services in the same facility, and provide a suite of support services that range from helping minimize symptoms and side effects to coping with the cognitive, emotional, and psychological effects of cancer. A typical shift for our nurse includes a team of mixed registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and Patient Care Techs (PCTs) caring for adult patients. We are dedicated to providing a fulfilling and high energy work environment. Our nurses and PCTs have a unique perspective on compassion and a strong belief in the enormous potential of cancer survivorship. Treatment for the CIT population on the inpatient unit includes chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, infusion of cellular therapy, symptom management, reviewing laboratory findings, and central line management including specialized intravenous infusions and clinical trials. As a CIT RN you are also collaborating with the team to assess and address goals of patient care, while educating patients on disease and treatment options. Through respectful, attentive and compassionate care, our multidisciplinary care team builds healing relationships with our patients that focus on recovery and survivorship. We work closely with a large team of supportive care specialists to address the psychological and social impacts of cancer for our patients. Registered Nurse (RN) - Infusion Clinic - Days

Make a difference with our Infusion team! Located on the 5th floor of the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, the Infusion Clinic provides vital care to oncology patients and other medical patients with acuity ranges from well-managed chronic conditions to acutely ill. Our nurses provide our patients the compassionate care they need during their stays and are responsible for our patients’ safety while administering life-saving chemotherapy, biotherapy and other hazardous medications. The passion and dedication to our patients in the Infusion Clinic is beyond compare- our patients truly become a part of the larger infusion family as we often see them for many years over their lifetime. By joining the Infusion Clinic, you will be choosing a team that excels in teamwork and where leaders have a unique understanding of what you do. Our nurses develop a special skill set and become credentialed to hang oncology medications. Our clinic hours are 7am-7pm and we offer 4 10’s or 5 8’s with varying hours. We require some flexibility to work late shifts and some holidays and will have weekend hours in the future. At least 1 year of RN experience, preferably inpatient, is required and previous oncology experience is preferred. The 47 bed Transitional Care Unit at CHoR Brook Road is VCU Health Care Systems pediatric long term care facility. The transitional care unit provides care to children with tracheotomies, G tubes, and ventilators. More than 30 children call our Transitional Care Unit home. While we are their nurses, therapists, dentists and specialists – we are also their teachers, recreation therapists, neighbors and friends. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides restorative nursing care for residents under the direction of the Nursing and/or Rehab staff to maximize and maintain the physical functioning and emotional wellness of the residents.
