Acts as a psychiatric resource to the bedside teams by providing clinical support, monitoring compliance with system policies, guidelines, and documentation, and by maintaining a safe environment for patients with mental health needs in the acute care, ICU, and ED areas. Responds to behavioral emergencies throughout the hospital and collaborates with the interdisciplinary BERT team to ensure patient and staff safety. Is knowledgeable of the regulatory standards related to the care of hospitalized patients with mental health needs and ensures compliance with those standards.
