Supports the District Director of Clinical Services (DDCS) in managing the healthcare operations of the communities in an assigned district. Helps ensure residents’ healthcare needs are met in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as Brookdale standards. Supports clinical initiatives and roll-outs by leading training for the district and/or individual communities as assigned by DDCS. In some states coordinates and signs resident assessments. This may include completing comprehensive assessments including personal interview with the resident and other if the resident due to any impairment needs assist with history, etc. Facilitates RN Delegations for medications and care per state regulations. Participates in a variety of meetings with the division, district and individual communities. Provides training, coaching and guidance to clinical leaders and front line staff. Participates in clinical training and audits compliance; including facilitating Med Tech/QMAP/Med. Aide training and competency evaluations. May assist DDCS in clinical Quality Assurance (QA) site visits. Provides insight to DDCS on overall assessment of community strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). May be asked to provide regular reports. Provides support in clinical investigations and may participate in disciplinary actions. Supports DDCS with special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills: Successful completion of accredited Registered Nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred. Current state license as a Registered Nurse required. Current CPR Certification required. One (1) year recent experience preferred. Acute care setting preferred. ACLS certification preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals. Additional Qualifications/Skills: Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards of practice. Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS. Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients. Demonstrates critical thinking skills. Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management. Effective organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality. Ability to work closely and professionally with others. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit. The role is also responsible for patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help the patient adapt to an altered life style. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
