Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse position is to participate under the administrative, clinical direction and leadership of the Director of the Neonatology Program and in collaborative relationship in the (Mother-Baby Unit), Neonatal Intensive Care Units (FICN and FIN Nurseries), Labor and Delivery areas with the other healthcare providers. Check and record urine and bowel movements. Ensure that assigned residents are appropriately prepared for school, clinic, recreation and hospital visits as scheduled and accompany/transport them as assigned. Ensure that bedfast residents are repositioned as directed by NCC but not less than two repositions per resident hourly. Performs restorative and rehabilitative activities as instructed and as directed by Plan of Care. Assists in applying safety restraints to residents when directed; Monitors residents in restraints, release restraints and documents according to policy and procedure Ensures that each resident who can use a call bell has one within reach and remind him/her to use it. Assists co-workers with lifting, positioning and other procedures as necessary. Be aware of facility policy on child abuse and/or neglect and promptly report any instances of abusive or inappropriate behaviors towards any resident to the NCC. Knows and follows The Center policy and procedure with regard to infection control including hand washing and types of isolation. Keep resident care area clean and free of clutter. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to NCC. Properly stores and safeguard residents’ clothing and reports too many or too few clothing and or toys to NCC. Feeds residents or teaches residents to feed themselves as appropriate. Responsibilities The Patient Throughput Coordinator will work with multiple entities to find and surmount the barriers to discharge of patient. This position acts as the designated liaison who facilitates and coordinates the transfer of patients into and within University Hospital. Works with referring agencies, hospitals, clinics, and the emergency department to ensure safe, timely transition of patients and clinically manages patient movement between units from the PACU, Emergency Department, outpatient clinics, procedural clinics and pre-admits for all service lines. Overview About the Role The Oncology RN Clinical Care Coordinator (OCC) works collaboratively with an oncologist in delivering care to their assigned patient population. This is an outpatient position and requires oncology clinical experience and sound nursing knowledge related to the care of patients undergoing cancer treatment to assist with the education, the coordination of care, and ongoing assessment of the patient's response to treatment. The OCCC assesses patients for symptoms, clinical and psychological needs, treatment-related concerns, and barriers to care. Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. BLS required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in basic life support (BLS). Ability to employ problem solving techniques and critical thinking. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move patients with/without reasonable accommodations. Ability to organize care/activities of multiple patients. Proficiency in the English language is required.
