Licensed Practical Nurse Part-Time

Join our team of passionate pediatric healthcare professionals empowering Kidz to be kids through PPEC daily skilled nursing! Always Closed Nights, Sundays, and Major Holidays! The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for providing care to pediatric patients, according to their individual needs and care plan using a multidisciplinary method. The LPN will educate the client and family as necessary. The LPN will be under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The LPN will provide care using a holistic approach, considering the child’s educational, psychosocial, behavioral, physical, mental, and emotional needs. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN licensure in the state of Kentucky. Recent graduate with a provisional license Basic personal computer skills and comfort with learning electronic charting systems. Preferred: Six months of experience as a practicing LPN with pediatric experience. Current negative Tuberculosis skin test (PPD) required. Current CPR (Basic Life Support) is required. PPECs initiate daily conversation among pediatricians, therapists, and family, providing continuity of care through case management, skilled nursing, and enrichment for the betterment of the child. Consults, follows, and documents with sufficient detail nursing care according to facility policy and procedures. Records client symptoms, responses, and progress concisely, accurately, and completely. Safely and accurately performs vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring. Interprets results and takes appropriate nursing action. Provides coverage in emergency services as needed. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing Program required. One or more years' nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility preferred. Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures. Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within a recovery setting. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid current registered practical/vocational nursing license from the state or from a nurse compact state, where applicable. CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
