Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, ME is recruiting for an experienced part- time (24 hrs/0.60 FTE) Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our team. The OB/GYN team seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, excellence, and the health of our patients. The CNM will see OB Emergency Department patients, perform postpartum rounds and discharges, supervise labors, and attend births with our resident team. This is a clinical teaching position. CNMs at MMC Portland participate in the education of resident physicians (OB/GYN, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine) and medical students through clinical supervision, didactic lectures, and in simulation labs. Medical Assistant – Neurosurgery | Scarborough, Maine Join our Neurosurgery team in Scarborough, Maine, and play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced specialty practice. The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers, helping to ensure a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, coordinating referrals and diagnostic testing, managing electronic medical records, and assisting with patient education and follow-up care. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with providers and other care team members to support patients with neurological and spine conditions. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
