Description Maine Medical Center Management/Leadership Req #: 76791 Seeking an experienced nurse leader to oversee a 21-bed Inpatient Medical Psychiatry unit caring for a medically complex patient population, with a strong focus on Geriatric Psychiatry. This role requires clinical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage a team in a dynamic environment where patients present with both significant psychiatric needs and medical comorbidities. Ideal candidates bring prior leadership experience, a collaborative approach, and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This Director, supported by a unit-based Nurse Manager, will lead a team of approximately 80 FTEs within a highly specialized inpatient unit providing care for patients with Medical and Behavioral Health diagnoses. With fewer than 10 hospitals in the U.S. offering a comparable model of care, this represents an exceptional opportunity for the right leader. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in behavioral health, demonstrated leadership experience, and a solid understanding of regulatory expectations for behavioral health patient populations. Summary The Registered Nurse - Clinical Services role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Experience: One year of recent RN experience preferred.
