Responsible and accountable for making patient care decisions that are reflective of the nurse’s experience as well as the patient’s educational preparation/level. Maintains confidentiality with all patient information and records. Receives and transcribes physician’s orders accurately. Verifies orders against medications and supplies received. Confirms all pump settings with another RN before initiating any pump therapies with patient. Admits patients using appropriate forms and paperwork on every patient admission. Completes consents for therapy as needed. Provide patient with insurance estimates (within a range). Offers patient consultation with insurance manager to discuss insurance issues. Follow-up/Re-teach visits with appropriate documentation and nursing notes. Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences and provides precepting, training, and mentoring to other nurses for orientation, and onboarding and supervisory activities as assigned. Demonstrate safety and competency with patient care activities. Maintain cost control in use of all supplies, equipment and medications. Completes company paperwork in a timely fashion.
